Campus traffic and Bear Transit operations will adjust due to the nationally televised ESPN home game Cal vs Clemson Football Game, Friday, September 25, 2026 at 7.30 PM. Shuttle services will operate on modified routes and schedules. Please review the specific line impacts below and expect general delays across the system.

South Side Line
This is a reminder that the 2026 Move-In for new and continuing UC Berkeley students will start on Monday, August 17th. The four day event will take place on: Monday (August 17), Tuesday (August 18), Wednesday (August 19), and Sunday (August 23).
This is an Access Interruption notice for upcoming work on University Drive adjacent to Heathcock Hall and Oppenheimer Way.
Work is scheduled for Monday, May 26, 2026 between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. As needed, either the eastbound or westbound lane will be closed (never both at the same time).

March 2, 2026: The Bear Transit Shuttle Bus Stop along Oxford Street/Berkeley Way has been moved to Oxford Street/University Avenue. This change affects the Bear Transit Perimeter Line and Central Campus Line.
Please be advised that the southbound lane on Gayley Rd. will be closed once per week between February 25, 2026 and April 21, 2026, to support scheduled concrete pours.

South Side Line
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our new Bancroft Parking Structure. The project is expected to be completed in August 2026 and will provide 660 much-needed parking spaces.

The Bancroft and College Bear Transit Shuttle stop has been temporarily closed due to construction. Please use the alternate stop located and Bancroft and Bowditch for the P and N lines.
Starting in April 2025, the South Extension and Witter lots will close permanently, and the Bancroft Lot will close temporarily as new parking is built. We know that closing parking lots has a big impact on how many people get to campus. These closures will reduce parking spaces over the next year and half, but we are excited to open a brand new, state of the art parking structure to replace lost spaces in August 2026.
