Cal Day is a highlight of Berkeley student life--more than 10,000 people come to campus every April to celebrate becoming a Cal Bear. Parking is limited and we encourage as many people as possible to take transit.
Getting to Campus via BART
The closest BART station to campus is Downtown Berkeley(link is external). You can get there on the Red and Orange lines from accross the Bay Area.
San Francisco
- If you are coming from SFO and San Francisco, take the Red line towards Richmond and hop off at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.
- Alternate lines: You can also take the Yellow line (towards Antioch) and transfer to the Red or Orange lines (towards Richmond) at Macarthur Station(link is external)
East Bay: Alameda County

If you are coming from OAK or the East Bay, take the Orange line towards Richmond and hop off at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.

Alternate lines: You can also take the Green and Blue Lines (towards Daly City) and transfer to the Orange line (towards Richmond) at Bayfair(link is external) or Coliseum stations.(link is external)
East Bay: Contra Costa County
- If you are coming from Antioch or Walnut Creek take the Yellow line (towards SFO) and transfer to the Red or Orange lines (towards Richmond) at Macarthur Station.
- If you are coming from Richmond, take the Red line towards Millbrae and hop off at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.
Getting to Campus via Shuttle (15 mins / .5 miles)
- Exit the station via the central escalator, and cross Shattuck Ave to take the Perimeter Line towards campus. The Campus Shuttle Stop(link is external) (shared with bus stop) is on Shattuck Ave in front of Oori Rice Triangles.
- Shuttles come every 15 minutes: ride four stops and get off at the NorthGate Welcome Booth
Getting to Campus via Walking (10 mins / .4 miles)
- Exit the station via the central escalator, and cross Shattuck Ave at Center street. Walk up Center Street to the campus roundabout at Crescent Lawn and continue onto campus via University drive. Find your info station at the Valley Life Sciences Building(link is external).
Visitor Parking
Free visitor parking is available at the following lots from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Cal Day.
