September is Transit Month! We’re thrilled to be joining San Francisco Transit Riders (SFTR) and Seamless Bay Area’s in various activities celebrating our city and region’s public transit that we all know and ride. 

Effective August 21, 2022 - Bear Transit will have several service and schedule improvements for both Daytime and Nighttime Routes.

All WageWorks Commuter Debit Card holders that your WageWorks Commuter Debit Mastercard will be cancelled and replaced with a HealthEquity Commuter Debit Visa card. As a result, your WageWorks Commuter Debit Mastercard stopped working on Monday 6/13/22, during which time any remaining balance will be transferred to the new debit card and mailed to the address in your WageWorks profile.

Saturday-Sunday, SS-Line runs every 30 minutes from 7:30 PM - 12:30AM,
Door to Door service suspended until further notice

Updated September 13, 2021: all malfunctioning cards should be addressed by coming to the P&T Office during normal buisness hours, or by emailing prktrans@berkeley.edu with a Student ID# and Clipper Card #. Users who are unsure should test their cards before contacting.

Daytime Bear Transit service will operate, except for Christmas Eve and Day and New Year's Eve and Day. There is no Night Safety Shuttles operating until 1/2/2022

Richmond Field Station (RFS) Line will not be returning when our campus reopens in June.

Due to the discontinuation of the RFS
Line, passengers are asked to take
the following AC Transit alternatives
from Richmond or El Cerrito BART
Stations:

Service between UC Berkeley and
El Cerrito is provided by Line 79
(Weekdays) and Line 52 to 72/M/R
(Weekends).

Real-time information is available on
Transit App, Moovit, or Apple &
Google Maps.

The transition away from Paper BART tickets to Clipper Cards have been completed, according to BART. This results in eliminating the risks with COVID-19 with a touchless solution.

NO RESTRICTIONS ON PARKING IF YOU NEED TO BE ON CAMPUS

Effective immediately:
The Bear Transit Downtown Berkeley BART stop, for P, C, RFS, H Lines, and Northside Night Safety Line has moved back to its original location, in front of Scandinavian Designs, Shattuck Avenue @ Addison Street.
The Shattuck Square stop is no longer in operation.
