AC Transit is pursuing the Multiple Rapid Corridor Projects in Berkeley that would enhance reliability and reduce travel time by improving traffic signals and upgrading or relocating bus stops. In addition, the proposal includes possible bus stop space changes from every two to four blocks.

Richmond Field Station (RFS) Line will not be returning when our campus reopens in June.

Due to the discontinuation of the RFS
Line, passengers are asked to take
the following AC Transit alternatives
from Richmond or El Cerrito BART
Stations:

Service between UC Berkeley and
El Cerrito is provided by Line 79
(Weekdays) and Line 52 to 72/M/R
(Weekends).

Google Maps.

The new Clipper Card App, recently released to the iPhone over the previous weekend of April 16 2021.

Additional questions should be emailed to us at Parking & Transportation

If a user transfers their physical card to their digital one (in this case, an iPhone), the physical card is automatically turned off. This may cause a disruption to the EasyPass User should something happen to their phones.

The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) has graciously supported our new Cal Student Carshare Pilot Program with GIG Carshare and ZipCar where student applicants who apply will receive either:

UPDATE FEBRUARY 3, 2021 - 9:30AM: the R-Line Shuttle will NOT OPERATE, after 11 AM, on Thursday, February 4th, and Friday, February 5th

No R-Line service due to reassignment of equipment.

  • Please take AC Transit lines 6, 36, 51B, and 79 through the Southside of Campus.
  • To access the Northside and East Sides of Campus, please take Lines 52 and F and the Bear Transit P-Line.

The transition away from Paper BART tickets to Clipper Cards have been completed, according to BART. This results in eliminating the risks with COVID-19 with a touchless solution.

Thursday 11/26 - Saturday 11/28 - NO SERVICE

Sunday 11/29 - Night Safety South and Door-to-Door Night Programs only

Monday 11/30 - Normal Service

Effective today, November 9, 2020, the Central Campus Line is discontinued, to provide the University Health Services Line, to move students who test positive for COVID-19,  and possible trace contacts.

The installation of the dispensers and protective shields on AC Transit buses is set to be completed by Friday, October 16. Following these upgrades, fare collection and front-door boarding start on Monday, October 19, 2020.

Student EasyPasses will be accepted on all AC Transit Vehicles. Employee EasyPasses are suspended through June 30, 2021.

Due to unhealthy air quality in and around the Berkeley Campus, we will be suspending all daytime service for the rest of Friday, effective at 1pm.

A decision to operate the Night Safety South Line will be determined later this afternoon as conditions permit.

Please use AC Transit service (through Transit App, Google Transit, or Berkeley Moves!) for trip-planning alternatives.
