Campus Parking Changes
Campus parking permits honored until 5:00 p.m., when all lots switch to Cal football parking
Important: Vehicles with campus permits remaining after 5:00 p.m. will be cited and may be towed
This follows the same process used for basketball gamedays
Road Closures & Access
Saturday, October 4 – Cal vs. Duke
On game day, both the South Side Line and North Side Line, provided by Parking & Transportation will operate on modified routes. The service begins approximately one hour after kickoff (around 8:30 PM). Riders should expect delays and detours
South Side Line
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our new Bancroft Parking Structure. The project is expected to be completed in August 2026 and will provide 660 much-needed parking spaces.

The Bancroft and College Bear Transit Shuttle stop has been temporarily closed due to construction. Please use the alternate stop located and Bancroft and Bowditch for the P and N lines.
Starting in April 2025, the South Extension and Witter lots will close permanently, and the Bancroft Lot will close temporarily as new parking is built. We know that closing parking lots has a big impact on how many people get to campus. These closures will reduce parking spaces over the next year and half, but we are excited to open a brand new, state of the art parking structure to replace lost spaces in August 2026.
Night Safety Service Protocol for Football game on Saturday, October 5th, 2024
Modified Night Safety Service
For scheduled night football games, Night Safety service will begin at, approximately one hour,
after kickoff, running modified routes, until approximately half-way through the 4 th quarter. At
approximately half-way through the 4 th quarter, service will stop, and resume service, regular
schedule, approximately, one hour, after the end of the game.
Commuter Survey Data for 2021, 2022, and 2023 is now available for access.
BayPass Update for 2024-25: The program continues, but we are not accepting new requests or applications. Contact the Mobility and Equity Committee and the Class Pass Oversight for more details.
We ask you to thank your bus driver, whether it be our Drivers from Bear Transit, drivers from AC Transit, or BART Operators and Staff. Their efforts help the campus get up and around, and we are thankful for them.
Due to Construction and Repaving work along Bancroft Way (as part of the City of Berkeley's Southside Complete Streets Project), the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF) will be closed for vehicle access for the night of Thursday, March 14th.
From 9 pm on March 14th through 5 am on March 15th, RSF Garage will be closed for access - no cars can come in and out of the garage during this time, and all cars must be removed from the garage by 9pm.
