California Clean Air Day raises awareness about air pollution and the ways we can combat this in our everyday schedule. Every Californian is directly affected by air pollution and when we work together, we can make a significant difference. Universities across the state can come together on Clean Air Day to reduce the amount of pollution they create and start conversations that go beyond your campus. We welcome students and faculty members alike to use the resources below this Clean Air Day.

The Student Adventure Pass makes it easier to connect to opportunities and experiences throughout SoCal, by train. Oh yeah, and it's free. This program is available for all college students, including UC Berkeley, with a valid .edu email address. For questions, please contact Metrolink.

  • Get a card or add value to a card on the Clipper website or app and through Apple and Google digital wallets.
  • Check balances on the Clipper website or mobile app.
  • Get account information or add value from the phone system.
  • Get a card or add value to their cards at a retailer.

Students who are planning to take City Planning (CYPLAN) 098 DeCal Course (Introduction to Transportation Demand Management) for Fall 2023:

The first class of the semester will be Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

  • Clipper Cards were available to use as a digital card in the Summer of 2021 to eliminate touchpoints, reduce COVID-19 Transmission, and create a better transit experience.

    • Students were given the option to transfer from a physical card to a digital card if they wished to do so.
    • If a user transfers their physical card to their digital one (Android or iPhone), the physical card is automatically turned off.

The United Auto Workers (UAW) and the University of California, Berkeley have a mutual goal of reducing the carbon footprint of the UC community and improving access to transit. The University and the Union believe the MTC Clipper BayPass pilot program is an important step towards achieving this goal. Both parties are committed to exploring ways to expand BayPass or a similar program.

Route 7 serves El Cerrito Del Norte BART Station to Downtown Berkeley, and will be extended to Emeryville Amtrak via Southside Berkeley, Elmwood District, Ashby Avenue.

MTC was informed the UC Berkeley and UAW 2865 reached a settlement in principle regarding the Clipper BayPass pilot program. UC Berkeley intends to extend its participation in the pilot until August 13 or until a final settlement with UAW is reached, whichever comes first. Once the final settlement is reached, UC Berkeley intends to continue its participation in the Clipper BayPass program as originally agreed upon and throughout the duration of the pilot.

UC Berkeley Parking & Transportation, and the Office of Senator Kailen Grottel-Brown are excited to announce the operation of all three Bear Transit Night Shuttles during finals week. The Southside loop, Northside loop, and Door-to-Door shuttles will all be in service for the entirety of next week so you can get home safely from your finals and late-night studying.
