September 19 - December 2: Lower Hearst Structure Painting Project

What's happening?

  • We're painting our structure and our staircases. There will be 3 week closures on each level of the garage.
  • Barricades and notices will be posted up to 5 days before the closure

What do I need to do?

  • Watch for signs like these:

  • There will be two levels of S Parking Available. Please note which levels per stage, below.
  • These spaces will fill up quickly. Please use the following alternative locations:
    • Foothill Lot
    • Witter Lot
    • Clark Kerr
    • Underhill
  • All Bear Transit Daytime and Nighttime Shuttles and AC Transit Routes are operational. Use the AC Transit App and the Transit App for real-time arrivals.

Which Levels are Closed During the Project and When?
September 19th through December 9, 2022

4th floor:        Sept. 19th to Oct 7th

  • The 4th level will be blocked with the police pedestrian crowd control barricades starting Sunday afternoon for Monday morning. 
  • 'S' permits will be valid on levels 2 and 3 in all spaces that are not reserved. 
  • 'S' Permits will not be valid on level 1 at any time during the entire project. 
  • All Public and 'F' permit color coded parking designations are being removed. 

3rd floor:        Oct. 10th  to Oct. 28th

  • The right turn into the 3rd level parking will have police pedestrian crowd control barricades with Level 3 closure signage posted across it to prevent vehicles from making the right turn into the 3rd level parking. 
  • 'S' permits will be valid on levels 2 and 4 in all spaces that are not reserved. 
  • 'S' Permits will not be valid on level 1 at any time during the entire project.
  • All levels and spaces will be open on Saturday Home Football Game Saturdays, and the current work level closed afterwards.

2nd floor:       Oct. 31st to Nov. 18th

  • 'S' permits will be valid on levels 3 and 4 in all spaces that are not reserved. 
  • 'S' Permits will not be valid on level 1 at any time during the entire project.

1st floor:        Nov. 20th to Dec 9th

  • 'F' Permits will be valid on levels 2, 3, and 4 in all spaces that are not reserved. 
  • 'S' permits will be valid on levels 3 and 4 in all spaces that are not reserved.
