We are excited to announce that new Electrical Vehicles (EV) Chargers are now operational at the Underhill Parking Garage! This initiative is part of UC Berkeley’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and supporting our growing community of EV drivers.
Below is everything you need to know to start using the new EV Chargers:
The new charging ports are located within the Underhill Garage (at Channing Way and College Ave).
Find them on: Level 1, near the Channing Way entrance.
Enter through Channing Way entrance and turn right. The chargers are located along the walls.
Look for the designated EV CHARGING ONLY stalls.
Charging fees are structured to encourage turnover and ensure all commuters have access to power.
Charging Fee: Typically $0.45 per kWh
Parking Requirement: A valid UC Berkeley parking C, F, S permits or a paid visitor parking session is required for charging.
Overstay Fees: To keep spots available for others, an overstay fee may apply once your vehicle is fully charged.
Download the App: Download the ChargeLab from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play
Sign Up or Log In: Follow the prompts on the app to set up your account or log in.
Locate Charger: Using the in-app map or key in the charger code located below the QR code.
Each charging station is equipped with a QR code for easy activation:
Move when finished: Once your vehicle reaches its target charge, please move it to a standard parking stall to avoid overstay fees and free up the port for a fellow driver.
Support: If you encounter any technical issues with the chargers, please contact Parking & Transportation at prktrans@berkeley.edu or use the "Help" feature within the charging app.
