What's New for 2007-2008
Permit & Transportation Renewals
Parking Permits
Permit Rates
Prices for most permits, with the exception of carpools and occasional use parking permits for alternatives users, have increased approximately 4.5% over 2006-07 rates, to support the parking capital program.
Underhill Parking Structure
The state-of-the-art, 1000-space parking facility opening in August of 2007 will benefit annual permit holders, students, and campus visitors alike.
Automatic Renewals
If you are faculty/staff, currently hold an Annual permit, and are using payroll deduction as your payment method, your permit will be renewed automatically at the new 2007-08 rate unless you opt out online before the renewal period ends.
Customers currently holding an Annual permit but who are not using payroll deduction will be offered the option to pay online with a credit card during the renewal period, and will not have permits automatically renewed.
Details about eligibility, timing of renewal period, and links to the online service are posted on our Automatic Renewals page.
You can also find information on the Faculty/Staff Renewals 2007-2008 page.

Transportation Programs
Parking & Transportation is pleased to announce that our Alternative Transportation programs continue to thrive. The AC Transit Bear Pass is once again being offered and our pre-tax transit ticket program is growing every week.
Bear Pass
The Chancellor's Oversight Committee on Parking & Transportation has recommended an increase in Bear Pass user fees to move this program closer to financial sustainability. The cost for Bear Pass program for the 2007-2008 year has increased to $30.00 per month, or a total of $360.00 per year. Those eligible for payroll deduction will enjoy the benefit of getting this program pre-tax, lowering the cost to about $23 per month for most employees.
Please review our Bear Pass Renewal page for information on how to renew your pass this year.
BearTransit
The campus day shuttles will be available free of charge to all who show a current UC ID card. The BearTransit Pass will be discontinued. Those who do not hold a Cal 1 ID card must pay the cash fare. Shuttles to Richmond Field Station are still $1.50.

Carpooling
The carpool rates for 2007-2008 will not be increased. Now would be an excellent time to try carpooling, especially with the price of gas on the rise.
