Attendant Parking

Introduction

Several campus parking lots offer attendant (stack) parking to accommodate high demand and increase utilization of lot space for permit holders. Attendants wear a picture identification tag, and are available at the lot kiosk or entrance during posted attendant parking hours.

To Park

When all marked spaces are full, the attendant will direct you to park in an unmarked space. Park where directed and lock your vehicle. Please do not park your vehicle in an unmarked space unless an attendant directs you to do so. If you park illegally, your vehicle may be towed at your expense. After parking your vehicle, bring your key to the attendant. You will be given a claim ticket in exchange for your key, and the matching stub will be placed underneath your windshield wiper. Parking & Transportation recommends having an extra car key to give to the attendant.

If you encounter a sign at your preferred lot showing that the lot is full, the campus parking sign at the lot entrance will indicate the nearest lot with available spaces. Sign updates with available lot information are posted every 30 minutes. If you find it necessary to park in a lot other than your preferred location, BearTransit campus shuttles offer free service around campus and to a stop near to your destination.

To Claim Your Vehicle

Before 6 pm, return to your lot and give your key claim ticket to the attendant, who will return your key and tell you where your vehicle is if it has been moved.

After 6 pm, go to the UC Police Department in the basement of Sproul Hall. You will be asked to present your key claim ticket and driver's license, then sign a form before receiving your key. This security measure ensures that keys are released to vehicle owners only.
