
Parking permits are issued based on the following criteria:
- Timeframe (peak/off-peak hours)
- Duration (hourly, daily, monthly, annual or occasional/temporary use)
- Eligibility (student, faculty/staff, department, alumni/emeriti, invited guest, visitor)
- User type (individual, group/club, vendor/contractor, carpool/vanpool, disabled driver)
- Campus facility (classroom units, central campus, halls of residence, storage lots)
- Vehicle type (automobile, motorcycle)
Annual Permit
- Applies Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Ideal for frequent parking needs
- Display the hang tag on rear view mirror
- Also valid for night/weekend parking, including holidays.
- Subject to relocation during Special Events.
Daily Permit
- Patron is only allowed up to 48 daily permits per year.
- Applies from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. during any weekday
- Ideal for occasional parking needs
- Display the hang tag on rear view mirror
- Daily Scratch-off Hangtag for C lots
- Daily Scratch-off Hangtag for F lots
- Daily Scratch-off Hangtag for S lots
- Daily Scratch-off Hangtag for Hill (H) lots
- Night/Weekend Daily Scratch-off Hangtag
- Construction Hangtag

Temporary Permits
- Construction
- Visitor
- Dispensing Machine Tickets (for use in conjunction with a Daily Permit)
- One-day temporary permit for faculty and staff or students who have lost or forgotten their permit
Carpool Permit
- Rates are charged per person
- Central Campus (C) carpool permits require one participant with 20+ years of service
- Carpool spaces are specially marked and reserved until 10:00 a.m.

- Must display 2 individual Carpool Permits.
Disabled Parking
- For permanently or temporarily disabled campus affiliates - purchase according to your affiliation (Faculty/Staff, Student, etc.)
- Proof of eligibility required before purchase
- Allows parking in marked Disabled Parking (DP) spaces throughout campus
About State Placards and the UC Berkeley Disabled Parking
- State DP permits and license plates are not honored on campus unless accompanied by a campus-issued parking permit.
- The California State placard is honored in marked campus DP spaces, and only in conjunction with campus-issued parking permits or with payment in a campus facility offering hourly or event parking.
- Disabled campus visitors who do not currently possess a California State placard and who require special parking arrangements should contact the Disability Resolution Officer by phone at (510) 642-2795 or by e-mail at esc@berkeley.edu prior to arriving on campus.
