AC Transit has initiated a new and convenient way to pay for transit rides in the Bay Area. Effective, February 15, 2009, AC Transit is requiring all Bear Pass customers to migrate to the new TransLink card.

Translink Update
If you are experiencing difficulties with receiving your TransLink card and/or your TransLink card does not work, please take the following steps:
- AC Transit bus operators will honor the Bear Pass mag-strip card as a flash pass until February 28, 2009. After that date, all participants holding a mag-strip pass WILL be required to pay cash if they don't have their Bear Pass TransLink card after February 28, 2009.
- If you submitted your TransLink Release form prior to February 9, 2009, and have not received your TransLink card in the mail, then contact Parking & Transportation immediately at prktrans@berkeley.edu
- If you have received your TransLink card in the mail and it does not work, please contact TransLink directly at 1-877-878-8883 to have a new card sent by mail. In addition, please notify Parking & Transportation via email at prktrans@berkeley.edu
- If you have not completed the TransLink Release form and your photo taken at 2150 Kittredge Street, you must initiate the process by visiting the Parking & Transportation Office, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:45pm in order to receive your new TransLink card before the February 28, 2009 deadline date.
- The Bearpass/Translink card should be paid in full $444 for the start of fiscal year (Pro-rated thereafter), if the method of payment is Cash, Credit card or check. It’s $37 month ONLY if you sign up for monthly payroll deduction.
Please keep in mind that it may require up to (7) business days to receive your new TransLink card.
