The P&T Student Worker ProgramUC Berkeley’s Department of Parking & Transportation (P&T) established the Student Worker Program to support its Special Events unit, which coordinates parking needs for a wide variety of campus activities. Our Student Worker Program offers students some the most convenient and flexible part-time work on campus. We’re proud of our committment to customer service, and are looking for students who can help make parking on campus a breeze for their fellow students, fans of Cal athletics, and campus visitors from far and wide. Training and dutiesThe program will provide student employees with both field and classroom training, giving them the information they need to navigate campus parking policy and recognize over 30 types of parking permits. Parking lot assistantsStaffing campus parking lots during Special Events, the lot assistants can be responsible for selling permits, issuing pre-paid parking permits. Assistants need to be aware of the many types of parking permits, and keep parking in campus lots limited to permit holders. Kiosk attendantsStationed in the East and West Gate kiosks, these attendants are often UC Berkeley’s first point of contact with prospective students, donors, or distinguished visitors.
