Fare and Policy Changes for BearTransit Campus Shuttle
June 30, 2006
Effective July 1st, riders on BearTransit will either have to present one of the university’s transit passes, such as a new Bear Transit Pass, or to pay a cash fare. Cal ID cards will no longer be sufficient for free campus shuttle service.
BearTransit will now limit free rides on the P, R, C, and Hill lines to Faculty/Staff who display a BearTransit Shuttle Pass (see below for qualifications), to students displaying a valid Class Pass sticker, to Bear Pass holders, or to those with Emeriti IDs.
If you purchase an annual parking permit of any type you qualify for a free BearTransit Shuttle Pass. If you do not have a parking permit, you can join the New Directions (Alternative Transportation) Program at no charge and qualify for a free BearTransit Shuttle Pass. Come by the Parking office at 2150 Kittredge to get your shuttle pass, or call 643-7701 for more information.
Effective July 1, riders who do not qualify for free rides will pay $1 for the P, R, C, and Hill lines. The fare on the Richmond Field Station line will be $1.50.
